FAQ
Once a booking is made I am able to give an approximate time slot for when the work will be completed. The time it takes to complete the painting is subject to the paintings size, intricacy & number of subjects. I have limited time slots throughout the year, especially leading up to Christmas, so you will need to book well in advance. You need to also take into account shipping times too. If there is a certain deadline for a gift or event, then it is advisable to contact me well in advance and give me all the details so that I can accommodate your requirements. I will endeavour to get the painting finished in plenty of time for you to wrap it up.
I have a price guide which gives an example of portrait costs. You can access it here - Pricing & Payment
This is a popular question and there are a few things to take into consideration. Apart from budget, you might like to think where you would like to display the painting. What size space do you have available, allowing for the frame depth, if it is a framed item. I'd recommend cutting pieces of card or paper to various sizes and holding them up to the wall where you thin the painting might go. This can help to visualise it within the space available.
A deposit of at least 30% is required with every order. The non refundable deposit secures your slot and is required before work commences. The balance is then due on completion & before collection/posting.
My preferred payment method is via Bank Transfer. If you would prefer to pay via PayPal, please note additional transaction fees will apply.
Yes you can, but please get in touch to discuss prior to making payment of your deposit.
My smaller portraits come complete with a mount & frame.
The larger deep canvases are completed with a floating frame.
I use a professional local framer who has over 20 years of service to high standard customers. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
If framing is not required then the total price can be adjusted to reflect this.
I will happily email you a work in progress sneaky peak photo of the artwork and then I can send another photo on completion. However, Some people prefer not see any photos at all, as they don't want to spoil the surprise.
I cannot emphasise enough that the better the image you give me, the better the portrait will be. Ideally, I like to be able to choose from multiple images of the subject. I will then use one to produce the artwork from. The other photos help me to get the feel of the character of the animal. The photos need to be clear, well lit, & the larger resolution the better, please take a look at my Photo guide for help and guidance.
No, you can have separate photographs of your pets and I will bring them all into one portrait. As long as they are good quality photographs there won't be a problem. However, a photo of them together is always handy in order to judge size relationships between them. I love incorporating them together on a piece - seeing it come together is very satisfying.
Not at this time. I am currently accepting commissions from UK-based customers only.
Absolutely! You are very welcome to pick up your artwork in person at my studio in Derby. We just need to arrange a time & date via email or phone.
Yes I can arrange for high quality prints to be produced from my artwork using a high resolution photo. These can be presented in a mount if required. Pricing is subject to size.
I also offer vegan suede cushions in varying sizes & coasters with your portraits image on.
All the above items do not need to be ordered at the same time as the portrait. You can always come back to me at anytime to order further products.
No I'm afraid not. I hold the copyright to the artwork created from your photo. I will never reproduce or sell your portrait, or allow its usage on any other website apart from mine and my social media pages, unless I have written permission to do so.
Once the artwork is complete and in the hands of the recipient I reserve the right it display the artwork on my website and social media pages. If a customer is unhappy about the painting being displayed, they must inform me upon ordering.
I am happy to make an appointment to visit you at your home to discuss your commission requirements. I am happy to travel within a 25 mile radius of Derby.
Due to my time being limited, in order to secure an appointment, I will require a small fee of £25 which is non refundable.
