I am a professional freelance artist & a member of the Association of Animal Artists. I work from my bright studio on the 1st floor of Banks Mill in the heart of Derby, UK.

I specialise in highly detailed, lively, colourful, modern paintings. I use a unique style of painting with acrylic paint on canvas, using the paint both densely & in washes of colour. Working from photographs, I create a contemporary interpretation of my subjects.

My portraits are created on a commission basis by working closely with my clients to create a bespoke work of art to treasure.

My animal art is my own creative works inspired by the variety & detail in nature itself. The Original artworks, Prints, Greeting Cards and Homewares can be purchased from my online shop, They can also be purchased at events, exhibitions and stockists.

I geniunely feel blessed to be doing a job that I love, it feeds the soul to know that customers love the art I create!

EXCITING COMMISSION !

For the past few weeks I have been creating a special commissioned artwork whilst working from home.

Late last year I was contacted by Captain Elliot of The Blues & Royals Regiment of The Household Cavalry. He is responsible for fundraising for their veterans charity & they sell official Christmas cards each year to raise funds. Historically they have always used a photograph, but after seeing my animal artworks he wanted to commission me to do a painting for the 2020 card.

The Blues & Royals are the 2nd Most senior regiment in the British army with previous members being Princes’s William & Harry. The Colonel is Princess Anne & the Colonel in Chief is the Queen. So you can imagine my excitement & what a “pinch myself” moment this commission was for Me!!

It may seem strange that I’m showcasing wintery equine artwork in the spring, but the reason for its design at this time of year is to prepare for it’s promotion in the The Household Cavalry Official Journal of 2020.

I’m so proud that my artwork is going to be printed onto thousands of Christmas Cards for 2020 & that all money raised from the sales will go to the worthy cause of supporting veterans. I’m also excited at the thought of whose mantle piece my cards may adorn later in the year!

I am currently preparing the painting for a run of limited edition mounted Giclee prints that will be for sale in the coming weeks. Plus the original artwork will be framed ready for sale too. A percentage of all sales will be donated to the veteran’s charity

Still open for business

It’s taken a few days to get my head together like most people due to all the changes happening in the world right now. But I’m still here & open for business.

THANK YOU to all of you who have continued to support me & my little business, it means a lot to me and helps keep things afloat during these really difficult times.

I realise that in the grand scheme of things, ordering artwork, a mug, a cushion & even a small coaster or greetings card isn’t high on anyone’s priority list – but we all need to add a little colour and lightness to these difficult days & also send still gifts to our loved ones.

I am operating as usual & assure you that I will keep creating commissions & shipping my products for as long as is safe and allowed.

Yesterday I moved my studio contents to my home to allow me to carry on painting & I have a variety of products ready to dispatch too.

I am still working as hard as ever, although like many of you, I am also juggling working with homeschooling my children – so please bear with me if you message me!

Posting products will obviously mean trips to the post office, which as you understand need to be kept to a minimum – therefore I will aim for 2 trips a week⁣.

Please keep watching me on Facebook and Instagram if you can – i will announce new creations when they happen & give you lots of gift ideas etc

Please stay safe, stay home and stay positive if you can. Together we can all look after each other and come out of the other side of this.⁣

After the rain….comes the rainbow!

Lots of Love,

Sarah xx

Testimonials

Sarah has produced an amazing piece of art that captures Indie our Cockapoo beautifully. The attention to detail is incredible, Sarah listened to our ideas, colours of our choice and she cleverly included a background of our favourite magnolia tree in the garden. She not only has incredible talent she is totally reliable, open and communicative and someone we would trust to paint our precious pet. Thank you.

Just wanted to show my fabulous cushion. Originally painted on canvas and turned into cushions , cards and anything you want. She also paints pet portraits so if you would like one of your favoured pets she’s you woman.

- Annette Hanrahan (Milford)

Sarah painted a beautiful picture of our beautiful Olivier. It made a lovely gift for my partner.

Julie Podet (Edinburgh)

Sarah has painted us a wonderful picture of our dog Lily, still not found the very right spot for it yet at home due to decorating but we just love it! Sarah took the time to contact us about what kind of style/colour we wanted and we talked about traits we liked in Lily but ultimately we let her have “artistic licence” and we are not disappointed.

- Poppy Hague (Dorset)

Just received my cards and beautiful cushions, I love them thanks, you are very talented ! Xx
